What is AI -Powered Ambient Scribe
A tool that listens to physician-patient conversations and automatically generates clinical notes.
What is Rexscribe - Medical Dictation Software?
A high-precision software for transcribing dictated medical notes. Medical Dictation can work online (live transcription) or offline (recorded audio)
What is the difference between Ambient Scribe & Medical Dictation?
An Ambient Scribe interprets the natural conversation to create note drafts, while Medical Dictation transcribes the physician’s specific spoken dictation into text.
How does the RexScribe Ambient Scribe work?
RexScribe’s Ambient Scribe uses a microphone (often via a smartphone app or dedicated device) to capture the physician-patient conversation. Crucially, the system processes the audio stream in real-time (or near real-time) to understand the dialogue and extract clinical information. RexScribe does not store the audio recording in this standard workflow; the audio data is processed immediately and then discarded. The AI analyzes this streamed data to identify relevant medical details (symptoms, history, plan, etc.) and generates a structured clinical note draft in your preferred template (e.g., SOAP note). This draft is then presented to you for review, editing, and final approval.
How does the RexScribe Medical Dictation work?
When you actively dictate using RexScribe’s Medical Dictation:
* Online Mode: The software captures your voice via microphone and uses real-time streaming (like WebSockets) to immediately convert your speech into text. The AI focuses on high-accuracy transcription, especially for medical terms. In this mode, the audio itself is not stored.
* Offline Mode: If you use the offline dictation feature, you first record the audio locally on your device. You then upload this recorded audio file to RexScribe. Once uploaded, RexScribe processes the file to transcribe it into text. This is the only scenario where an audio file is temporarily stored (during the upload and processing phase).
In both modes, the final output is accurate text ready for your review and inclusion in the patient record.
Does RexScribe store the audio recordings of my patient visits or dictations?
No. For both the standard Ambient Scribe and online Medical Dictation modes, RexScribe processes the audio in real-time or near real-time and does not store the audio files. The audio data is immediately discarded after processing. The only exception is the optional Offline Dictation mode, where a user records audio locally and uploads the file; this file is stored temporarily solely for the purpose of transcription and then deleted. This approach prioritizes patient privacy and data security.
Who is RexScribe designed for?
RexScribe is designed for physicians, clinicians, and healthcare practices of various specialties who want to reduce the time and effort required for clinical documentation.
s my data safe with RexScribe? / How does RexScribe protect my data?
Yes, protecting the security and confidentiality of your data, including Protected Health Information (PHI), is a top priority for RexScribe. We implement robust security measures designed to meet or exceed HIPAA requirements.
In Transfer: When data is transmitted between your device (e.g., smartphone app, computer microphone) and RexScribe’s servers, or between RexScribe and your integrated EHR, it is protected using strong encryption protocols (like TLS/HTTPS). This prevents unauthorized interception during transmission.
At Rest: Any data that resides temporarily on RexScribe’s servers (such as the generated text notes awaiting your review and approval, or temporarily stored offline dictation files during processing) is stored in an encrypted format. This ensures the data is protected even while stored within our infrastructure.
These encryption practices are key components of our commitment to maintaining a secure environment and safeguarding the confidentiality and integrity of your clinical information.
